A dedicated group of child life specialists aimed to create a regional child life professional group for the state of Texas. In response to this need, the Texas Association of Child Life Professionals (TACLP) was formed in 2015.

Our group of child life specialists and student members have continued to grow and are representatives from various states within our southern region. In response to this ever-growing membership, the name was changed to Southern Association of Child Life Professionals (SACLP).

The SACLP strives to foster and promote the professional development of its members by providing education and networking opportunities. In doing this, SACLP will assist in the health and well-being of children and their families in health care settings. We continue to welcome members from surrounding states and look forward to the ideas shared and camaraderie within our region.
