SACLP Statement on immigration enforcement

The Southern Association of Child Life Professionals (SACLP) stands in alignment with the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) in expressing deep concern regarding the separation of children from their families in the context of immigration enforcement. 

As Certified Child Life Specialists, our professional and ethical responsibility is to promote, protect, and prioritize the emotional safety, developmental well-being, and human dignity of all children without exception. 

Child Life Professionals are uniquely trained to recognize the impact of stress, fear, and loss on children and families. SACLP affirms that children deserve compassion, protection, and developmentally supportive care in all systems that impact their lives. 

SACLP remains committed to advocating for policies and practices that uphold the emotional well-being of children and families and reflect our shared professional values of empathy, equity, and respect for human dignity.
